The conference will take place on the College Avenue
campus
in New Brunswick. Rooms
have been blocked at discounted rates in two local hotels:
- The University Inn,
New Brunswick, LSRL rate $84.00 per day. This hotel is located at about
15 minutes by campus bus from the conference site.
- The Hyatt Regency,
New Brunwsick, LSRL rate: $145 for weekdays, $105 for weekend. This
hotel is located downtown New Brunswick, within walking distance of the
conference site.
Please
mention the "department of Spanish and Portuguese conference room rate"
when you make reservations.
Directions:
From
Newark-Liberty International airport to New Brunswick:
- Taxi. Taxis are
located outside the airport terminal (cost , about $50).
- Public
transportation. NJTransit
trains run every 20-40 minutes from the Newark-airport train station to
New Brunswick all day (cost, about $12.00 one-way).
- Look for the
Monorail at the train terminal to the Newark-airport train station
- In the
Newark-airport station, buy a ticket to New Brunswick (NE-corridor line)
- Take the
NE-corridor line towards Trenton. The ride to New Brunswick takes about
30 minutes.

From
the New Brunswick train station to campus
- The New
Brunswick Train Station is located at the corner of Albany Street and
Easton Avenue across from the Rutgers Bookstore.
- Cab service
is available from the train station (about $5 to local addresses in the
New Brunswick area).
- Campus Bus
route "F" will provide direct service from the Train Station/ Rutgers
Bookstore to the Cook/Douglass Campus (where the University Inn is
located).
- For the
College Avenue campus (where the conference will take place),
proceed up Easton Avenue (short hill) and turn right on Somerset
Street.
- Proceed on
Somerset Street for half a block and turn left onto College Avenue.
From
the New Brunswick train station to hotels:
- The Hyatt is
located on Albany street, three blocks from the train station
- To arrive at
the University Inn from the train station, you can take the "F" Campus
bus to Cook/Douglass (ask the driver for the "University Inn) or take a
cab outside the train station.
